A 16 year veteran with the Greenwich Police Dept., Petrone was diagnosed with ALS in 2007 and remains on active duty with GPD handling cases in the Criminal Investigation Division. His fellow officers and community leaders are on a quest to make the town synonymous with an effective treatment for ALS. Care to join them? Show your support by comming to welcome us home!

Riding at their own pace after an early morning departure out of New Haven, first riders are expected to arrive in North Greenwich at around 11:00am on Sunday, July 25. Coming into town on Round Hill Road, early riders will await the group with a few hours of hill repeats up and down our aLst Hill™, John Street.

With an average grade of 8%, our aLst Hill™ is a steep and winding ¾ mile climb with grades of up to 13% in some places. We hate ALS, and we take the opportunity on John Street to prove it. It's here the fury of angry cyclists bent on the fact that there is still no effective treatment for ALS comes to bear.

Cyclists have been known to climb John Street as many as 15 times as spectators cheer them on, and donate to their heroic efforts. (For a rider; 15 times up John Street, on a 75 mile hilly ride from New Haven, is a distance and difficulty rating greater than even the toughest day on the tour de France.)

At 2 pm we leave the pain of the aLst Hill™ for the pomp of downtown Greenwich, our Victory Ride down Greenwich Ave and Finish Line celebration at Roger Sherman Baldwin Park.
